The Pape's started their career in the dog industry after adopting Bones, their first dog in 2016. With a management background, Jacob succeeded in roles in dog training and dog daycares before opening Great Lakes Dog Training Co. in 2022.

Husband and Wife duo, Jacob and Liz bring a combined 14 years of dog experience. Liz enjoyed learning as much as she could about business ownership and client relations. In March of 2025, Jacob & Liz had their first child. Liz has continued to handle operations.

Aaron comes to us with years of dog training experience. His passion is working with dogs and teaching them how to live happy lives with their families. He loves taking his dogs in public any chance he gets. Aaron continues to strengthen his training knowledge through seminars. He was voted GLDT's Trainer of the Year for 2025!

Erin started her career in the dog industry at a dog daycare. She worked in a vet field as well and finally, broadened her skills focusing on administration and sales for a dog training company. When she's not answering the phone or working on our newsletters, she is a mom to dogs and kids!

Jamie's dog experience started in the vet field where she learned lots of skills which lead her to us to expand those skills! She has 5 years of experience in the field.

Tyler comes to us with experience in dog training from his own personal dogs to working with other training companies. When he's not working with us, he is having fun with his German Shepherd, Labrador Retriever and Brittany Spaniel.

Ethan comes to GLDT after working as a trainer at another training company where his passion to work with dogs was ignited. He has pups at home that he loves and works with. He is well known here for his attention to detail and education to clients.

Previous client, Ellory learned how to train from the best. Using that system, she trained her second dog, a rescue! When Ellory isn't training with us, she is hiking and training with her dogs.

Sam, Gabby and Cait can be found having fun with your pup, training, and overall, caring for your pup. They come to us with experience of handling their own pups and animals like chickens and bunnies.

We wouldn't be able to function without our support staff that handles caring for your pups, cleaning and other duties. They are an asset to our daily operations.
